Animal Crimes Unit


The mission of the Blount County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control is broad and varied. The first and foremost objective is to elevate public safety and health through the control of nuisance animals. Second, to protect personal and public property from interference by domestic or feral animals. Third, to promote the privilege of responsible animal ownership through education. Fourth, is to defend animals from suffering, misuse or abuse. To date in the year of 2012, The Blount County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control has recovered over 1400 stray animals in Blount County along with answering calls of service.
